Been collecting parts for a while now to build a one-off fenderless woody wagon. My question is rear axle width, I have a 60” wide ford 9” rear axle and I’m going to be running adapters and 35 ford wire wheels with a triangulated 4 bar. I was wondering how much clearance i should have between the tires and the rear body. The body is going to be a custom steel cage with wood panels, roof and doors, so I can widen the body to match the axle. How much do you model a sedan guys live with to avoid any trouble? Or should I scrounge a narrower axle? Rick
A triangulated four bar shouldn’t have too much side to side movement, so a couple inches clearance sounds good. Unless there is taper in the body and a big bump will get it too close. Only you can answer that.
