I'm in the driveway trying to pull the rear drums off my 64 galaxie. stupid question, maybe, but what do I need to know to get these things off so I can finish up my brake work?

    thank you.

(search was too broad for any help)

they can get stuck either on the shoes, or where the drum fits over the end of the axle. For the shoes, back off the brake adjustment. If the drum is stuck to the axle, try a penetrating oil, and whack the axle end dead center with a BFH. be careful.

If that doesn't pop it off, try some heat on the flat part of the drum, it might expand the hole enough to come off the axle.

there are threads about this subject, if you search for "stuck drum"
