Technical Rear End Interchangability

    Hi all. Does anyone know definitely if a '58 Pontiac rear end will bolt under a 1958 Chevy car??? My thanks in advance.

    Maybe, if they're both Canadian built.

    Not positive but I think you may need what is called a conversion or swap u-joint.
    IIRC the Pontiac has a larger cross trunion than the Chevy. Quite possibly the drive shaft will need to be shortened also.
    My 65 Chevelle drag car had an Olds/Pontiac rearend but this was in the early 70's so the details are a little fuzzy.
