Does the rear end have to be solid mounted? by the rules? I couldn't find that? Also I see in the rules that Radials are not allowed, yet guys were saying radials were? Which is it?

With the HA/GR cars,You can be sprung or solid mount.. As far as the tires are concerned, HA/GR does not allow the use of radials. Bias only..SDRA allows radials as well as automatic trans. HA/GR does not.

Just what (ThingyM) said. I am currently building a SDRA car by there rules with a generation 3 Chevy 194 and a powerglide.

If you want to build a HA/GR race car the rules are here on this site, If you want to know what the SDRA rules are go to Tulsa Raceway web site and look under nostalgia.

Yep, bias for HA/GR, radials too for SDRA, and slicks as well for the Oregon boys.

They're differing interpretations of the basic HAMBster (HA/GR) cl*** started here on the main board, and given a sub-site by Ryan.

Ryan also accepted the task of codifying the rules dreamed up by the founders of the cl***. These are posted on a "sticky" at the head of this sub-site.

    Essentially:

HA/GR = the way it was in '50, with the addition of up through '61 engines of the same engineering, and with modern safety equipment.

SDRA = HA/GR with the addition of more modern components; engines, carbs, tires, slush pumps (aluminum PGs, etc, not the cast iron two-speeds of the era), etc.

Oregon = SDRA cars with the addition of slicks.
