Got the steel for my body for the modified. Starting that tomorrow at school. Now im trying to figure out how to do my rear suspension, i decided on a transverse spring, but how should i mount it? I was thinking have the rear axle directly under the kick up, close to the body, but have the rear X member directly above the axle, then have my perch stick out the amount that the rear shackle hangers do. Does anyone have any tips on this set up, things that need to be changed, or any other ideas?? i can post pics if that didnt make any sense.

Look at a LOT of pics of modifieds. You will see many interesting ways to do this.Assuming you have a model A frame, I like the fairly stock arangement with the axle moved back behind the crossmember, the spring and perches in front of the axle. You don't need anything above the axle and you can get as low as you want this way.
