rear ens questions

Discussion in 'Questions & Suggestions' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Dec 11, 2003.

  1. I am planning a '24 T rat rod truck and want to use a banjo rear with juice brakes. Does anyone know what years rear ends I can use or what would work best? Also all the ones I have seen on e bay have a pointy part of the axlesticking out of the drums. Is there a way to remove it or can it be used without running into any problems with fitting a wheel? Thanks.

I have a friend called 'ens', he owns a bar in town. I'll ask him if he knows.

Just a tip Jason you will have alot more luck with an introduction before you start asking questions. The "pointy" part of the axle your asking about has treads on it and a "nut" that holds the drum on so I don't think you would be happy cutting it off.

I currently have a model a and the rear on it does not have the stubs. Is that due to the mechanical brakes? Come on guys I need some help with this rear end thing.

The "pointy deals" you are talking about are the axles. If I follow you.

You can use any banjo rear end they made but you would be beeter if you could find a Model A for your T project. The problem is gonna be that they are weak.

Any rear end after 39 should have juice brakes. If you are planning on running the flatty then you can run the torque tube.

If you are planning on running a sbc, you will need the later rear end out of a truck. I Believe they were 46-48. They are open drive. Whatever you decide, you need to run safety hubs or safety clips on the axles.
