Rear leaf springs for 46 chevy?

Im getting redy to upgrade the rear springs on my 46 chevy two door sedan. Looking for advise and options as to witch way to go. I realy dont want to pay the $500.00 for the mail order kits, when all i really need is the springs / shacles and spring mounts. (i have everything else )
Do they make springs to bolt on the origenal mounts?
What do i need to look for here.

i'm thinking most after market springs are going to be 2" wide and your originals are probably only 1 1/2" wide... i could be wrong, who knows??
