I want to put rear leafs on my 1938 Ford fram for my 1940 Ford truck. I know there are kits from total cost involved but I wanted to see if there was other options and what people have used on their own builds.

I guess you mean 2 parallel leaf springs. I used some early 60's Dodge pickup front springs on my 40 coupe. They are the right length and set it up nice.

Chassis Engineering makes a great leaf sping kit for your application. Includes everything you need. I have used one on three different cars. All you need is a drill and some hand tools. No welding or fab required. (I know guys whats the fun in that)
