I've got a 1956 Ford mainline that had a new wiring harness put in the car before I bought it! I can get everything to work except the p***enger brake light! Bulb is good, connection to bulb socket is good! Blinker and running lights work fine! I've got a green wire for right blinker and a yellow for left blinker! The brown wire that goes to the bottom of each light and to the license plate light doesn't have and juice ! I've checked fuses ! Should I remove steering wheel and check the column group??? Wiring isn't my strong suit! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Sounds to me like you have two problems, not one. Correct me if I am wrong, but but your left brake light and the 'blinker' should be using the same filament in the bulb. So, should the right side. So, if you have a right turn signal, but no right brake light, the problem is likely in the turn signal switch contacts, as there is where the brake light, signal light division is made. I don't understand the seeming contradiction that you 'have running lights, but no tail light on the right side and license light. If you have power to the left tail light (running light), but none to the right side and license light, then there is an 'open' between the left and right side as they are commonly fed by the same wire which splits into two in the rear compartment somewhere to feed the other tail light. If the brown wire, which should be tail lights (and license light) has no power, check the headlight switch terminal for power first. If no power there, the headlight switch may be defective. If powered at the switch terminal, then work your way to the back checking for power through the brown wire until you find the 'open' spot. Ray
