    Hi guys,
I have rear 1940 style cross memeber with straight spring for my 32 frame.
Mounted U-bolts and tightened them (not very hard).
Pads are twisted becouse off the leaf spring radius. I hope it will be better under load. What do you think guys?
    Thanks

    Yes it will change.
Just spreading the spring to get it on the rear end hangers will flatten the spring some.
The weight of the car will take care of the rest.

Once the weight of the car is on it will flatten out some. If it's still too much of an angle you could grind the bottom brackets so that they fit the Springs Square

Just to add to the above comments, although I think you’ve already realised it :
I would not tighten any of those bolts until you have the ‘load’ on them.
Reason is to make sure everything is sitting correctly before tightening.
