I had a Pete& Jakes setup under my Morris minor street car and the good folks at Pete & Jakes made me a set that were based on a Model A set up ,but with my shorter wheelbase . They made me a set in the length I need at no extra cost. Mike from Honest Charley's in Chattanooga called and gave them the length and in 2 weeks they were delivered. Looked just like your setup. Nice job.

I've purchased some of my parts from Pete and Jakes and they have been great to work with but I have to give a shout out to Rjays for the ladder bars. They have also been helpful and can supply more than just ladder bars.

I thought those looked familiar. Nice parts at a good price and do what they're supposed to.

I have shortened a few sets, when I had them on the shelf, to fit a shorter chassis.

I put a tap in the tube, to align with the threads. Then I hung them off the table of the mill, well clamped, with the tap in the chuck. This perfectly aligned the chuck with the tube. After swapping the tap for the proper drill size, I drilled to the desired depth, and ran the tap down the original threads, into the untapped area, as deep as needed. That way, there were continuous threads. Then I cut off the excess. In some cases of extreme shortness, I had to do a mid-cut, and another drill and tap pass, to get the excess tube out of the way.

  6. Well, If you've got the motor to do so.......It only took me 18 yrs to crack the single digit barrier...... Won the whole deal (class), twisted the rearend like a piece of licorice, and got blood from a rock the hard way.......
Agree with the above statements= set up is key to what you want to do.......
