Rearaxle identification

    Hello all,

    Finally found an old corvette to hotrod up, it is an old race car and is a big project.

    Can anybody tell what rearend this is, i do not think it is original.

    Here are some pictures.

    Looks like an old Old's or pontiac to me. Super strong units, but if it was in a drag car it might have some crazy gears in it.

    Yep. Olds is my guess, maybe Pontiac? But the Olds was the g***er rear of choice back when. The wheel pattern has been redrilled down from the big GM pattern to Chev, that's another clue.

    It's defiantly not corvette and shame on your for hot rodding a corvette. The NCRS gods will bestow great suffering to you.

    I did find some number and here they are,

    K258 and 622496 it might be 522496.
