Hello everybody, Intro-time: I have been member before, under the name of LowFlyinDutchman, a few years back. I am still building a 32 Ford roadster, ASC frame, homebuilt centercrossmember, Model A front and rear crossmembers, 4"dropped I beam,36 Ford rear, converted to closed drive. 1950 Mercury flathead, Isky max1 cam, Johnson lifters, shaved but OEM heads, Offenhauser 4bbl intake with a 390cfm Holley. Why ? because of the gearbox: a 68 Camaro Powerglide with a conversion "kit" from Mike Davidson, Australia. It is pretty damn hard to build a traditional rod with the right bits overhere in Un-rod-friendly Holland. No history of USA cars here, so most parts are scrounged through Dutch US-clubs, or UK-swapmeets. And then it is still not registered...if the building is tough, registration is ****in' tough ! But I am still building... Tupperware-body, in black, upholstery will be white and copper-metallic T&R, engine and 16" spokes will be painted copper. (maybe spundiscs by Grimlok, hey ?) Pics soon.... Well, hope to speak to ya soon ! And Mart Holden: contact me please regarding the upcoming swappie march 6th !
Welcome to the HAMB! I always find it interesting that Hot Rods are being built in Europe, and give you guys a lot of credit, it has to cost a fortune to build one over there.
You guys have it really tough compared to us. I'm always amazed at the quality of the rods being built out of this country. Keep up the fight, you'll get there. Frank
