J.Ukrop - Fantastic read … fun pics … it’s like I was there with you. Proof positive why I should leave the creative writing to a true professional … and just continue to post pics (with brief captions) here on the H.A.M.B. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. - T.Olson
Man, what a fun weekend it was, Thanks for all the pictures. I was gonna ask about how the rest of the polaroid's turned out. The night time chat with you and the Gadberrys, was my favorite part of the show. cant wait for next year, #GatheringoftheRoadsters2023
I’ve been clicking refresh on the front page for about 3 hours. I know your posts don’t pop up until around ten, but every Friday I do the same thing. Click, thursdays post, click, Thursdays post, it’s as if it’s not officially Friday until your post appears. This week was especially special because I knew you’d be posting about the roc weekend. While I would like to point out how dead on you captured the weekend I’m going to veer slightly. Your writing over the last couple years has created this wonderful narrative of a young hot rodder building a neat roadster, vagabonding around the country, and sharing what’s found. To be honest I was half nervous to meet you. You’d kinda become akin to a character in a favorite book. I’m more than happy to have found that this character we read about this morning is real. I don’t t know if I’m more impressed with the quality of your character, or that your prose has translated it so perfectly. Guys, you absolutely have to make it to the Roc weekend. We started making our plans for next year before we had even left Bartlesville, and it’s gonna be a good one!
There's a piece published in one of the Rod and Custom Street Rod Quarterlies and penned by Tom Senter that many are familiar with. He chronicled his trip to the Memphis Street Rod Nats riding shotgun in the Jim Jacobs/Bill Niekamp "A" roadster. That article is on my list of all-time favorite road trip stories. I've just added another one to that list.
Great write up, and great meeting you! My son and I chatted with you briefly at the gas station on our way to Woolaroc Sat. morning.
Great writeup Joey! I did see you once, but didn't get to meet. We were standing in line to get lunch Saturday when I noticed you up ahead of me a few people in line. Anyway, I am sure we will meet at some point down the road. Thanks so much for capturing the weekend and your adventure getting there.
Livin the dream, except for almost dying lol. It was good to meet you, I look forward catching up down the road.
One helluva narrative there Joey! Ya know, I bet you could get a job doin that if you really wanted to! When you started feeling crappy, I thought uh oh, covid. But all’s well, eh?

Another great write-up @J.Ukrop. This photo encapsulates @RedneckBuz perfectly: calm, cool and collected!
A great summary of an awesome weekend. It was great having Joey along for the ride to the Roc. Just encase anyone was wondering if Joey was exaggerating...
