Hot Rods rebuild olds engine that has been stored since the late 60' early 70's

I found an olds rocket motor (minus the heads) that was rebuilt by an engine shop in the late 60's. The engine is still sitting in the back of the shop wrapped up and out of the elements. We did turn the motor by hand and evberything seems to rotate smoothly. My question is there anything that I need to look out for or be worried about on a engine that has sat this long

 

....wow....score. I would disassemble and check everything. Time is the enemy of every man. Sure the assembly lubes are questionable at this point.

definately dissassemble and clean. Many unknowns with something sitting that long, but mainly rust.

 

Yep, no expert but better safe than sorry. All you need now is the top end to turn the short block into a long block.

 

Rings today are way better than anything they had back then. Other than rings and gaskets, if everything checks out it should be a great engine.
