I do not know Brians Car program only what I read ,
4K , more likely covers Round trip to & from Race , Wear & tear of event
I would think Broke even , But I feel still
Not enough to cover Total expense for
    A 3 day ,
    4 Q
    & possibly 4 rounds ,
    1 gallon Nitro $60ish
    Drum 50 gal $2,800 -3,200
Oil $80 gal per 1 ga
    Spark plugs about $8 each
    No breakage, Rare !

Not including tires and other wear on items /parts .

If it was easy, everyone would do it! I'm just happy that guys like Brian keep pounding away.

  5. We run the show by doing it on the cheap. There are a lot of ways to save money on the road.
The biggest saver is not needing hotels. My trailer has a shower and ac. We blow up air mattresses for the crew. I sleep up front.
Next saver is food. We don't eat out every meal. Only when the rig is moving do we eat out. We arrived at the track to set up. When that's done we go grocery shopping. I have a nesco; toaster; pizza oven; microwave and refrigerator. We eat good.
We run a combination that doesn't eat spark plugs. We don't have to change bearings every pass. We don't take out pistons. The tune up is mild to avoid those costly things. T- shirt sales provide money for diesel fuel or food.
While expensive for a first time purchase I buy the best quality parts I can get so I don't have to buy them twice. I own special tools to service the car. Staying up on the maintenance goes a long way on saving money. The check won't find the whole program. I have gotten checks for each event I have gone to. The total plus match racing money allows us to stay a float and still put a little away for any future investments like a block or crank. Parts and safety gear all have a life span. In the off season I need another new helmet. Mine is good until the end of 2025. If I don't have the cash available then I pick up overtime at the hospital to fill the gaps.

Trust me these guys eat very good I know I was able to dine with them at the track both days and Brian has a very good routine of maintenance after every pass that alone save a bunch of broken parts there’s nothing cheap in doing this but his initial investment of top notch stuff helps a lot I had an old nitro racer tell me once “the best parts are just good enough” meaning there’s no reason for broken parts if you buy the best also if you talk amongst other racers most of them will tell you the same thing Brian’s car has a mild tune compared to the others but it’s safe and just doesn’t give issues if he was running on the ragged edge there would be all kinds of broken things those who run on the edge have a lot more cost per season

  7. I'm taking a day off. German fest is going on this weekend at the lakefront Summer fest grounds. It's a big deal. Good food; music and fun. We get into this as s family.
