I far as I know Brian is OUT. According to drag week rules you have to trip the lights in order for the run to count, you MUST make one run a day. It was probably the wildest day one in drag week history. Two cars hit the wall , one onthe big end, a 7 second car! Good news is JIM had a great run and I am sure headed right out for the next track.
He can still make exhibition passes at the rest of the tracks as per the rules. It remains to be seen if the trans is up for it.
Oh, man, that's a bummer for Brian. At least he can make some passes and enjoy the week, I hope. Go Squirrel! Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yea ! I hope he still gets to run the car, and enjoy! Brian has made an incredible effort over a year. and when he did his burn out today, she sounded great. And is stunning to see.
I'm back in wisconsin. the bruno shit the bed. its very unusual for one to go bad. the band and drum have to be junk. the car would not go into reverse. when i would push the button to activate the air brake the rpm never dropped. with the drum spinning there is no way to shift if power is going into the lenco. we actually serviced the car and converted it over to efi so we could do a quick stage and break the beams. hemi joel helped out getting it ready. after several conversations on the phone with bruno we decided to load up and come home. we plan to have the bruno out this morning. we are taking it to the south west suburbs of chicago for parts and service. bruno has the parts in stock. we plan on being in indy. we won't make norwalk or martin. today we actually drove the car on nitro and gas on the same day. the car was very well received by all. there were a lot of head scratchers trying to figure it out. we learned a lot in two days. many adjustments were done. even though i didn't have a full power pass there was a lot of useful info gathered. lets keep rooting for our fellow hambers still in it. tricky steve is still in. so is hemi joel and squirrel.
Im sad to see that you didn't make it down the track, and I know this might not be any consolation, but; all us who routed for you, are very impressed in your hard work and insane amount of our hours you put in to this thing! And when I say sad, I mean for you that you didn't get to take it down the track. There is some guys that have been more active in the routings then me, but I try to leave a "like" when ever I agree/like what I see/is impressed with your work. And I can say with honesty if there was ANY HAMBers there when you had your difficulty I bet they gave you the standing applaud and respect for making it that far in that short time. You are a very dedicated man, and this is my standing applaud for a fighter that keeps on fighting!
Thats racing and what it's all about, this shitty side of it is just part of the game and happens to everyone within the sport. Brian has plenty of experience sorting out one Bruno issue and come back stronger in notime. He's calm report shows just that, and patience is surely needed with every new build. No luck now but later, for sure.
Sort the transmission out. Like many others here who have watched you work like a demon to get ready, I look forward with great anticipation to the first of many time slips from an amazing build and builder.
Brian, you are the man! Will be watching for you at indy. Yesterday sure was a crazy day in ohio. Go Squirrel , Steve, and Joel! Good luck today guys.
That sucks, but that's racin', I guess. If it's okay by you X, I'm gonna continue to put up the links here to the daily live stream...... So we can follow along with Squirrel and the others.
Disappointing end to an epic thrash. Sometimes it's the unexpected that gets you. Rest up, get it fixed, make some exhibition passes. You're my hero bud !!
Nobody would call it a failure, you have accomplished a shitload in a short period of time, an epic thrash, sorry about the bad luck but can't wait to see it once you have it sorted out! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Much Respect for your efforts/talent and when you get it sorted out, it will be that much more rewarding, satisfying AND Faster than a speeding bullet. What you have built/engineered is on the WOW meter and the odds of it good to go out of the gate were not in your favor, Please remember all of your fellow Cheesehead's and Hamber's are pulling for you and wishing you sucess, AND there's always the next race or year for another chance at success, Winner's never quit, Quitter's never Win. Have At It !!!
Totally agree, literally; shit happens! The golden rule is prep; all stuff can be broken, but junk goes first, and bad luck takes the rest. He just got bitten by bad luck, next time it might be good luck!!!
