Lots of guys that follow this thread are stopping by. It's nice to meet them all in person. A guy with me took some video. We don't have WiFi here so it's taking a long time to transfer to u tube. The car sounds good. We followed these steps in order. Verify timing. Set air valve and barrel valve. Setting the high low valve. Made changes to the main pill. The water is in the block and we ran the pump. It was started several times as adjustments were made. Steve from missle was helping. He has alot of nitro experience. We came up with our tune up plan with exact changes we wanted to make each time the car was started. We have it set safe but close to were it should be. Not only is it running better it's consuming alot less fuel. After it picked up some temperature the valve covers were pulled. The heads were retorqued. The lash reset. The filter checked. The lash is set cold at .016 hot .026 that's how much the heads and block grow. The blower belt is also reset do to this growth.
I found these stage five dual plug magnesium covers in the swap meet. They are new in the box. You can see were this is headed if you have been following this thread.
Wow those look so much more period to your car than the current new ones, some times the stars align, this is your year man! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
WOW! Brian, you are for sure sitting at the "kool kids" table now, those rocker covers are neat. Hoping you're not going to have them polished but something tells me you will. Sure would like to see some shots of the covered grandstand at Beech Bend, that looks so neat and a very nice facility too, not many others around like it anymore. Never been there for an event but my wife and I snuck in there one day around 1984 when it was closed just for a look, I've wanted to go to the reunion ever since.
I hope so. Bad storms came through Wisconsin last night. The shop was struck by lightning. My wife and daughter saw it happen. The in shop videos should be good.
It was awesome tonight. Lots of header flames. I will try to post some pics and video on this thread tomorrow evening. As always it was good seeing you Brian. I have been posting a bunch of pics on the thread that is linked in my signature.
Here's as good a shot as I could get from Cacklefest. Thanks again Brian for letting us hang out all weekend. Sent from my SM-N950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I have not been over to Nhra funny car champ Bruce larsons Pennsylvania shop in a while. It was nice to catch up on what we are both doing. His flip top camaro is in the back round. Bruce Larson invented the fire burn out. I learned from the master.
I found this cool two piece aircleaner scoop in the swap meet. It's a miniature of the cars scoop. I'm going to put it on the golf cart. It needs a good polish job first. I can't say I have ever seen another like it there isn't a name any were on it. View attachment 3937915
I know you have been beating your head on the wall, but looks like things are really going your way. Thanks for the cool video.
Yes we did. As always it was nice to share some time with you and your son. Thanks for posting some pics. Happy father's day.
Ah you ditched the ugly grey hose. Now it truly is the baddest ass hot rod in all the land I’m sure[emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Not every day I get to sit next to a street fuel coupe! We had a fun weekend hanging out. Thanks for extending your pit pad to us. Arlo was right at home with all of your big and little kid toys. I especially loved hearing it on 80%. Sent from my SM-G930V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I took it easy Sunday. I was trying to recover after all that heat. All i got done was empty the trailer and polish the scoop for the golf cart.
