I have a Series2A Land Rover and recently had the gearbox out and professionally rebuilt. When I reinstalled it (with very little effort) I found the clutch dragging. I didnt touch the friction plate or flex plate which are fairly new from 18 months ago. I had no issues before I pulled the gearbox. I have been over the clutch mechanism with a fine tooth comb and pulled the gearbox again to check pilot bushing and throw out bearing. Still drags. Any ideas much appreciated. The WHOLE website is about hot rods and customs. Not off road vehicles. But, before the thread disappears, is there any adjustment in the linkage or pedal that could have been disturbed? Could the throughout bearing have been banged or the collar been nicked, causing the hangup? Did the splines get nicked? Did you put a little bit of grease on the splines so the disk can move? Who did the rebuild, and did they set it up really tight? Maybe the new syncros/bushings/shims aren't slipping much? I don't know the internals of a Rover transmission, so maybe you should try a Rover site?
Is your pilot bearing damaged? That can cause noise or input shaft to continue turning when clutch pedal is depressed.
