"SHINY BRITE" To me, the box and the artwork on the lid are more interesting than the actual ornaments.
Popped back up to Carlisle this morning. Weather forecast was right, rain by noon. A guy who was packing up saw my looking at these traction bars and made me a good deal. Unknown application, I tried them on a Chevelle rear, does not fit. Any ideas out there?
Picked up this early sixties Tudor Basket all game, works but it is pretty lame .I will say that you can make three point shots with it
Interesting design - those axle clamping hoops must be pretty tight to stop them slipping when the spring winds up. Cheers, Harv
It looks like the bolt hole between the axle and the bar is what stops rotation. I believe these are specific to a certain car for that reason. They don't match up to tri 5 or Chevelle, I compared them to what I have here. Thanks!
Ah - I see what you mean about the bolts. When I first started out, I only had one type of vehicle (a couple of 60's Holdens, like the avatar). Everything I had stashed away fit those cars. I put a Chev into the avatar, but Chev gear is usually easy to identify. Now that the kids have cars, my shop looks like a wreckers. I've started labelling stuff (using the rectangular manila tags with the eyehole reinforced, and cotton twine), as I'm starting to forget what some things came off. Hopefully this makes it easier when someone has to identify my stuff later. Cheers, Harv
I typically don't like to buy memorabilia type stuff online or from dealers, I like to find stuff "in the wild", especially with local history. But this thing was too good to pass up. My '52 actually has these on it, just like the picture.
I found this at an antique store in Dewey OK today. I thought that it would make a cool shift knob insert . But I’ll probably hang it up somewhere
I picked this up Saturday. It doesn’t fit anything I own. I put it in the classifieds. I thought maybe someone here might want it.
Picked this up the other day. It’s small, about the same size as those cereal box giveaway license plates. Looks better in person than in the photo.
Today it was hubcaps! Mid '50's Packard, 1932 Willys Overland 6 and a really nice '26-27 Ford Wire Wheel Cap in BRASS!
I have once again been allowed to go to "the dome", a really cool hoarder property that's getting cleaned out, so I could hunt around for cool shit to save and buy some interesting stuff. Here's my haul from this weekend. The Sinclair drum was being used as a gasoline can, up on a rack so it would gravity-feed. I got the hose and brass handle from it which will be perfect for my rough Wayne gas pump, if I ever get it together. Also got a few signs and license plates, a Weatherhead cabinet and another one for tire patches, some tail lights and odd bits, a sweet license light from a camper, one early Ford steel wheel (maybe F1), some cans, etc. Was really fun, I hope to go at least one more time. The more it gets cleaned up, the more interesting stuff is revealed.
These came into my possession this week. I have an elcamino, just like this 60 in the shed, the red one says auburn taxi on it, the white one celebrates the new allowances on the hamb.
