Ahhhh . . The good old days when you could buy a pair of "Junior Handcuffs" for only 30¢. And typewriters had an actual key for the "¢" sign.
I been wondering if it was a kit offered where you found your own bomber tank or somebody sold them complete.
Wish I would have had one of those this summer, I relined my Model A brake shoes and I had to clamp them in a vice and use a sanding block to get them to match the drum, took a fair bit of time and messing around to get a good fit. Same with the shoes on my '54 Nash project. Not something a guy really thinks about anymore.
I could see this being some sort of popular mechanics project article. There where thousands of these available in surplus stores ripe for the picking.
Recent find lol . I saw this sticking out of the ground as I was working ground. I stopped the tractor and pulled it out of the ground . It’s funny how things lay in the dirt for years and then it pops up
Scored this today. Old Williams railroad monkey wrench. While I doubt I'll have much use for it everyone of my grandpas had at least one in their tool box. And considering my family has had multiple divorces at one point I had five grandpas lol. Knowing my dad's dad I somewhat suspect his was more for "security". He was a bit of a hot head with low trust levels lol. In any event I buy up anything Williams I find cheap as they're owned by snap on now
The Advanced Auto by us is going out of business and scored this 366 piece nut and bolt set, and a hammer and dolly set.
Take the sharp edges off those hammers and they work ok. Dollies are actually pretty good. I've been using those same dollies 12 years now
So I scored a couple of boxes at a local online auction. I was leading on the model A truck, but we didn’t reach the reserve bid. So let the education begin, I’m pretty sure those are fender braces, a spindle, tail light standoff, hood hold down, and door hinges. So that leaves the elbow with screened canister and elaborate wing nut, which I would guess is an air breather. I’m not sure what the rusty triangle with three bolt holes in it might be. There is some more stuff, but this was the wheat I sorted from the chaff.
All model A stuff . The triangle is the taillight support bracket for the muddy side of the rear fender taillight stand . Those holes should line up.
I had one just like the one in your picture. The other one had the pulley shaft cut and and the flat belt pulley removed and the three stepulley adaped and the cast arm brazed back on. JMHO
Found in a box of NOS Ford things. What happens inside that small box, does power come into it or out through the four wires?
My guess it it has been on a shelf longer than it was ever outside on a car. What did it fit? Mercury?
I'm the new caretaker, the HAMB classifieds will never be empty, and I'll never run out of ID questions. Carried every part up the stairs and out of the basement and built a pile in the garage, Loaded everything yesterday into a friends enclosed landscaping trailer. Today I'll unload it into the 3/4 clear section of a garage bay. Looking forward to turning 74 on the 23rd. Bob
Look what showed up in the mail today. I wonder how many of these are left. Don't tell me you can still get 'em at the local hobby shop.
