Gang, I've been obsessing all afternoon... Somewhere in the last five years or so, I remember an article about filling and peaking an Early Ford axle. I can't remember who wrote it, but the work fro the camera was done by Gene Winfield. I would swear it was in Hot Rod Deluxe, but I have pulled the whole collection and have yet to find it/ Ringing any bells for anybody? Any clue which magazine?
There is one good here on hamb. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/peaking-polishing-a-32-axle.854718/
I saw that too, Winfield doing the axle. I don't think it was Hot Rod Deluxe though. Maybe it was but I think it was actually Rod & Custom. I have some older issues stashed somewhere and I'll take a look.
I had to laugh this morning, after your post last night about the issue being Mach '09...I looked at the piles of magazines I had pulled out last night and dug through, and the earliest issue was May '09! I had left the previous 10 or so on the rack, 'cause "It certainly couldn't have been in an earlier issue". Walked this morning to the top of the "too early" stack, and here it was. Oh well.
