Recognize these tailights? Real Barris or copy?

After the lost Barris Merc post, I was looking thru some pages of Kurt McCormick's stuff and came across these tailights. Anybody recognize them? I'd like to use these on my '52 Poncho. If anyone has a better pic (bigger) of the car or more info on the car that would help. Pic from DWDarby's Fotki site.

Thanks, that was quick. Even a Pontiac, damn now I really am sold on the swap. All I need is to find a set, at least I know what I'm looking for. I suppose repops are out of the question.

Is it me, the angle of the photo, or is that top chop bent below the rear window? Somehow that Fleetline like flow has been lost on this car.

I don,t think the top is bent.It is Sam Barris,s old chopped Buick,So I,m sure the chop is fine.

I think what you are experiencing is,"distortion" in the picture. It occurs when a long(telephoto)lens is used to shoot a picture of an object that is too close to the lens.It makes the far side of the pic(the fenders in this case)look larger than the near side. There's a technical name for it in photography(parallax maybe?)but I don't recall it offhand.I'm sure one of the professional photogs on the board would know.

That car has a beautiful flow into the decklid. It may be just the photo. I have never seen the car in person, but I have seen it in many books and mags, and it flows perfectly. Sam Barris would never let a dip in a roof go by.

For the lights, they are '53 Pontiac taillights in '51 Merc rear fenders added to the back of the Buick.

Those tailights are ****** hard to find. The last set I saw were selling for $400 pair, and one of the lenses was cracked.

The year of the trim is '51, right? Correct me if I am wrong. Also, did you trim off the little piece from the Lincoln trim on your Merc? Or, did Sam add that to the trim on the side of the Buick?
