Yeah it just popped up on Facebook. The NY ave NW. made me think it was a District of Columbia address. I don't know many cities with 4 quadrants like DC. The auto parts section of DC was on 14th st NW in that time period. Most of the machine shops and Strick's automotive one of our oldest speed shops were on 14th st NW until the riots. The small writing looks like it is a magazine article.
Before my time..... It's a parking lot in the Mt. Vernon Square/ D.C. Convention Center area now... http://maps.google.com/maps?q=606+N...n&ved=0CAoQ2wU&sa=X&ei=iMACUZ_UFIejxQGw84HwCw
Thats Ray Gionnavonnis shop in DC before he packed up and moved to Florida in 57 or so. The 36 of his is pure ***! http://www.motorburg.com/?p=102 Mr Ray also had built the replica of Schooner America in the 90s. I had dinner and drinks with him a few times when I was working on the USS Sequoia in Alexandria Virginia, her Captain was his Captain on Schooner America. He was still advertising in the Woodrow Wilson high School year book in 1956. http://www.e-yearbook.com/yearbooks/Woodrow_Wilson_High_School_Yearbook/1956/Page_177.html a little more! http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=Giovannoni_Cams
I remember that car from 55-56 when he ran Convair Field in Allentown, PA., what a runner. I had a 999G cam in my 34 Ford.
