1967 442 ground lead connected funky. Someone just bared the copper strands & sandwiched them between the power steering bracket. & the engine. I plan to count the stands still connected & reconnect a new neg battery lead w eyelet connector to another bolt on the power steering bracket which is in direct contact w the engine. Anyone see any issues. Yea I’m lazy & don’t feel
Like removing the power steering bracket as the power steering is fine but using another bolt higher up makes sense as it’ll be easier to get to & keep clean later!

I wouldn't ground to a bracket. I would run the ground to the head or block. I also run a ground from the starter to the frame. It's good to be well grounded.

Couple things. 1967 cars are not discussed on the HAMB. That aside, just run the second ground cable to a bolt somewhere on the engine block and you should be fine.

"...Count the stands still connected..." Huh? What does that mean? Do you mean "count the strands still connected", which still doesn't make sense. Just get a new cable with an eye on one and and battery clamp on the other, however long you need, and bolt it to whatever bolt you want and have easy access to on the head or the block. With NOTHING else. No component. No other bracket. And then ground the engine to the frame separately. And then a ground strap from the engine to the body. Don't be "that guy".
