Projects Recreating the jesse lopez coupe

  1. That's money well spent, in my estimation...rolling/wheeling those skirts isn't even within a distant (honest) view of my sheet metal skills...

Does he have a fender mounted on a body, to verify the curvature? That would be my only concern.

You found that solution pretty quick! I agree, the world is a much smaller place than it used to be!

Well Jim, you unwittingly revealed how short sighted you are. Youv'e completely missed the fact that they could be bitchin' Christmas serving platters.

Shame on you, you need to be more careful.

    Hey jer,

Given the fenders & the skirts are still unpainted, ya could ''tweek'' both for a dead-nuts fit PRIOR to goin to paint:) I'd rebolt the fenders to the vehicle, and install the skirts, then adjust gaps with a 4 ton porta-power or bfh & block of wood. Ya may well hafta rearch the skirts over some pipe or a dolly for a flush fit.

Man, at $225 I don't know how he's makin money- those look sexy to me!

    good luck

OK, I just got in since the AM post. Thanks for the help Rik. Remember that the fenders are going to be welded to the body. The front fit was solved by moving the front portion of the fender out. That took up that gap. That can be done at the positioning of the fender on the attachment area. The rear area looks very doable. Remember the template from Palle is on it's way. I'll have to revisit all this at that time. Hopefully everything is close enough. Oh, the skirts are $275.00.

Wow! Jer, you scored with those. They look like they fit pretty nice. A little tweaking and you are good to go!

275 isnt bad at all.... BUT you still have to remember that they are not an original item so there is the huge price difference... The more original parts, the more valuble it is.

275 is way worth it.... nice score

  26. I just got caught up to date. After seeing how Junior's car turned out I can't wait to see this one. Keep up the good work!

Let's see how much trouble we can get into with these, while we wait for Palle's templates.
