I posted on the USER NAME Thread this morning & can not seem to find it now.. I wrote about being in the Air Force, naming it the Air Farce. I meant it as a joke and surely apologize:oops: to those offended (it just did not work out like I indented for me) I served honorably, 1958 -1962, honorably discharged.
moving on now, I'm a strong patriot, loving his county

There seems to be people who didn't serve who take humor by those who did as mean ...

For those of us that served, there is the unofficial right to respectfully joke with others that also served both in our same branches and others. I don’t really know anyone that served honorably that discounts anyone else’s service as not worthy. My dad was in the Navy, we grew up by an Air Force base, served in the Army and served a tour in Iraq supporting the Marines and proudly wore the combat patch the Marines authorized us to wear (1st authorization for the Army to do so since WWII). We joke about the good and bad of all of our services while maintaining respect for every man and woman who served. At the end of the day, despite the jokes we tell or hear, we still respect each other’s contributions and would all still probably do whatever was needed to protect our country and those we love. Side by side. We’re the ones(percentage removed) that served.

Edit: the internet says that only 0.4% currently serve. It does say that 7.4% of Americans have served in some form. And only 6% qualify as combat veterans (served during a time of war).

Monday morning note for clarification only.
Why the sour disappointment ,? you might ask. I'd answer, " Would you like being a house plumber the next four years of yor life, even though you had been chosen for OCS (Officers Canidate School),turned it down, and survivors' instructors training instructor?".................. Me neither .
