I'm considering/comparing a TP Tools blast cabinet (US Made) to one from Redline Engineering. The Redline website doesn't specify where their stuff is made, but their solvent tank is the same one that Harbor sells in a different color, or at least the HF one is a perfect clone of what they sell, so I'm assuming China.

Anyone have any experience with Redline or an opinion on why NOT to buy the TP/SCAT cabinet?

    Here's the Redline unit: http://www.redlinestands.com/catalo...ne-re48-abrasive-sand-blasting-cabinet-p-1145

  2. I bought a TP/SCAT blaster over 15 years ago. It still works fine. I bought the Christmas Special, good price, free shipping. I see TP at Hershey every year, and get my supplies from them. TP is very customer oriented, and have good products. I looked at several different brands of blast cabinets, and TP was the best in quality and price.

I have a blast cabinet that is equivalent to the harbor fright one. I bought it about 15 years ago and with a few mods, it's been great.

I have a cheap HF style one. By adding a name brand gun and hose and caulking the crap out of the seams it performs very well but still makes a huge mess even with a shop vac running on the dust port all the time. I might consider one of the one piece plastic units with no seams for better mess controll. Size and lighting are the biggest issues I would look at as well. You would be surprised at what will fit through the door but you cannot get good access to all sides to actually clearly blast if the cabinet is too small. You can never have too many lights unless they are in a too small cabinet and get in your way.
