Redmond Swap Meet this Saturday, September 9th. Opens at 7am for public. Always a great swap meet. I'm always in spaces 22 & 23. Hope to see ya there! Here is a link: https://coocc.net/swap-meet/ Dave
Cool. That's 182 miles from my driveway to the parking lot. I'm not sure that will make it this year though.
Thanks for the heads up. I can’t make it this time, but will add to my calendar for the next one. John edit: fornicate it, I’m going in the Model A. I’m not needed in home town till late afternoon. I’ll be leaving at 0430. Drive that sucker! Giddyup.
It's 140 miles for me, and contemplating going. Just need to decide if I'm up to starting out early enough to be there at opening, or just arrive late? I'd have to leave at 4:30 AM to be there by the opening time.
So how does the ‘car show’ part of it work? All I see online is info about being a vendor in the swap meet. John
@Almostdone I think the car show is/was free. Never put any cars in it myself. Swap meet was great! Sold a bunch of stuff and scored a '29 roadster body! Dave
@dwollam Ok, I saw a roadster body that had a ‘Not for sale’ sign on it - maybe you had already bought it. I drove down and eventually parked in the Car Show area - it was free and had maybe 80 vehicles. The swap meet was pretty good. I left with a few good books and a passel of t-shirts. Sort of funny - I got a paltry 14 mpg on the 140-mile drive down, then noticed my choke never came off. I fixed that real quick and got over 18 on the way home. John
Yes sir! That was my booth! Bought the roadster body from the vendor next to me before he even got his trailer past me as he pulled in. Sold a lot of stuff and I came home with almost the same amount of money even after shopping as I left home with. I wore my HAMB shirt Saturday but my wife stayed at the booth and sold while I got to shop a good portion of the day. Took some real doing to pack what was a full trailer when we arrived then add the roadster body and pack in and around it to go home but we did it. Now I have to unload everything this morning after some coffee and a shower! I bought 5 T shirts from the Acme Speed Shop guy AND a Copy of The Jalopy Journal! Dave
I also bought a copy of the Jalopy Journal, but only bought 3 Acme t-shirts. I bought them from John Mearns’ wife (I think). Sounds like you did well. John
