Hi: I have a pair of Reds headers on my 292, 1955 ford fairlane. My main problem is getting them to seal and not leak where they connect to the exhaust system. I've had my friendly muffler shop do it. He has about three exhaust gaskets between the two pipes But, they always blow out on the driver side of the car lasting only one summer. I'd like to know, short of having everything wielded shut, is there a better plan I can explain to him, to make these work. I'm open for your input........Thanks Dave

I would put in a call to Red's and see what they have to say, there has been a fair amount of reviews praising them on many forums so hopefully they will step up with a solution. Please keep us posted about your results.

In my opinion on these headers, the two hole flange is not thick enough to keep from warping and sealing. There's a reason why most headers are 3 hole jobs at the flange. Of course, that doesn't help your situation for sure.

What i have done in the past is to use a "gutted" heat riser between the header flange and the downpipe flange to help that union seal better. Do that and you won't need the extra gaskets. I know it sounds odd - to make the union there from one gasket to two, but it works!

Let me know how it turns out...
