I am starting on building a '34 Ford 3-Window from a good original frame and body that I was lucky to get along with a 331 hemi. Does anyone have any suggestions for good reference books on hotrod building. I want to go traditional and vintage. The vision right now is to build a straight axle, split wishbone(maybe hairpin) front suspension car. I am highly unsure of what rear suspension to use. So, any suggestions for good books on the topic would be great. Of course this website is fantastic and I am sure it will be a significant source of good material. Regards.
to start off , get Vern Tardel's book http://www.verntardel.com/collections/books/products/how-to-build-a-traditional-ford-hot-rod drop an original axle (there are several on here that provide that service) , either split bones or hairpins on front. on the rear i suggest the stock cross spring
Find a book with Billy Vintners Red 3 window from Ca in it. (It's been in lots of books, cover R&C, Rodders Journal, several things by Peter Vincent) Stare at it, study it, then duplicate it!
