my post regarding the calif. election was not meant as a forum for off topic political debate... i as well as many others have been following the back and forth goings on regarding Y.O.M. plates, smog exemptions, etc. my intention was to create a little discussion regarding these issues. nothing more, nothing less. oh, and bug GERM a little... sorry if i crossed the line!

do you think ahnold can really lower the car taxes? he's gonna have to convince what, 2/3 of the state legislature to change it? THEN where will that money come from? the OTHER taxes NOBODY wants to pay?

just wait till you find out what ahnold has to do with enron.

 

actually he doesn't have to convince 2/3 of the state to repeal it just like gray davis didn't have to convince 2/3 to instill it. He did it illegally, yet claimed it had an automatic trigger. Yes it does but we never hit the trigger. It is wehn the state is in complete dier straights and it ain't he just had to get one of the dudes in the government, I forget who, to say yeah this can be triggered and the bam. car registration goes through the roof. all arnold has to do is say its ******** and its gone.

 

But like Ray said... then what? Are we going to raise our sales tax to compensate? What else is there to tax? You can only squeeze so much blood from a stone. Personally I hope that we reduce the car tax (VLF fees, to be exact) and also he signs a bill to allow the YOMs to go up to '69 (last year for cars. Last year for black plates on trucks was '72).

does a person deserve a six figure salary to go to one meeting a year?? I dont think so. Theres things to cut. The government is to big and needs to loose the fat. Thats it for the political talk for me now back to cars.

 

Breaking the TOS.

Government

Should serve the majority, not the minorities. This includes some unpopular but necessary decisions. Second, recognize TRUE minorities. Race, religion, size, ***, ***ual preference are not minorities. All those people can function just like any other person. No discount, no special treatment is warrented. Handicap people ARE a legimate minority that DO need protection.

So, Step 1
Eliminate ALL government that involves FAKE minorities.

Step 2
Encourage SMALL business rather than BIG business.
The economics of scale of business only work with governments of the same scale. National businesses canot be governed effectively by a State government. International businesses cannot effectively be governed by a national government, therefore cannot be governed.

The state government should create an environment that encourages small, diverse businesses with minimal management and more production or service. Proliferation of that type of business encourages many small towns rather than large megalopolises, small towns encourage families to remain together, and local production and service companies retain work in the USA.

So, to sum up how I would rule the world:
Remove seperate governing of fake minorities.
Remove the barriers that hamper small business including the "breaks" given to large business.

So there! JUST LIKE THE '50s, ARNOLD!

 

that law on registration tax was voted in yrs ago it was ruled uncons***utional and was never taken off the books remember when we all got those refund checks for car registration thats this law Davis just decided to reactivate it thats why the voters had no say but thats what got him governated by Arnold

 

My take on this Calif. resolution doesn't affect me politically, my rant is that since Calif is getting too expensive for some people they have begun to migrate to AZ.Two years ago I bought land in AZ now, with 4 yrs to go before we retire there, I just got my *** kicked with the new price increases that shut me out of the market, for example, our house was going to top out at 225K+/- 5% now, the same area is pushing 300K+ and it doesnt seem to be slowing down WTF I realize its what the market will bear thing. sorry about the rant but now we have to start all over again somewhere else.
