I feel like this came up on a post a few weeks back on picking a good online material supplier. One of the if not most the upholstery guys on here mentioned. Best bet is to find a shop near you where you can just go in and shop. That way you know the quality of what you are buying. Marine should be easy enough, you typically just have to find your closest docking marina and one should be close by.
An interior designer bought 50 yards of material for a job (pews). The material looked cheap. So, I called the manufacturer and asked what the number on the rub test was. 75 thousand. Sounds good ? Nope, I did another job on covering pews. That material rub test was 300,000 thousand. I ordered the same material as before for the pews.
I haven't done an interior in about 10 years, The supply company I used to use was bought up by some outfit that was bought up by another outfit and that company seems to have disappeared. I asked this same question on here awhile back and didn't get any real good leads in my area which is about a hundred miles northwest of Milwaukee and Chicago and there are very few upholstery shops around here anymore so I cannot even find out who they use. Hopefully you get some ideas we both might use. good luck Larry
I bought pearl white by the yard when I purchased my interior set from Legendary Interiors. Not cheap though. https://www.legendaryautointeriors.com/
