Just came across this photo again and thought I would share it.

Midway through the day. I don't think anyone ever went to the other side of the track or even realized there were stands to sit in over there!

  2. It was hot, I was hung over, and I stood in front of the grill rig all day which must have been 120 degrees.

Yes, I do, very fondly as a matter of fact. Would could forget their first??
The feel was right on the money....small, intiment, no daily drivers in the pits. The perfect event period.

I'll never forget that weekend because it was the first time I got to hear a
quick change rear end run down the track. When it went by the first time, we
thought that it was getting ready to blow. We felt sorry for the guy. Thankfully
during the second p***, they announced how kool it was to hear a quick change
rearend gett'n it. So all of the sudden something that we thought sounded bad,
    was suddenly real Kool.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

My car was still covered in salt and I had an exploded windshield from the trip
    to Bonneville.

I think Outlaw made me do laps on a mini bike that night too since there was
not much going on in the parking lot.

    Yeah!

Mama Rash had a sinus infection and was still out there with me. Bless her heart.

I think this pic shows EVERYone who was there....Well, maybe not, but it sure wasn't the Mecca that it is today.

The thing I remember the most was nobody would make a p*** for like 30 or 45 minutes. We all stood around goin "man...it's hot.."

How could anyone who was there forget. I think Denise's big grin says it all.

Anyone who needs a reminder or any newbies that want to take a peek at what we're talking about can find a few zillion pictures here:

    Yep, that was about it..

and I wait until no one's looking (i thought) to run the chevy through, and all of a sudden there's a black coupe beside me that just smoked me.. even though the mercedes had given him a good run earlier!
