Not only do they get mixed up between living and the dead, they mix others into the days. As my old flight sargeant would have said, "that really chaps my ass." Memorial Day and Veterans day is about MILITARY VETERANS. While I fully appreciate the service of others (police (of which I am also a former member) firemen and hospital workers) and the dangers they face daily, these two sacred holidays are for MILITARY VETERANS. Our great Nation, through several mediums, has for years been encouraged to "make everyone a winner". I'm sorry guys, I'm not trying to make a political statement here, but I'm sick of what seems like all of our traditions becoming diluted because of the "everyones a winner" attitude our country is slowly coming to. I've made it my personal goal to try and save at least the two holidays that were created to honor Americas Military Veterans.
Another "well said" Doc. In memory of my brother! A2C Gerald L. Eggleston USAF - Vietnam Aug. 19, 1944 - March 27, 2009
