We lost Pat Ganahl three years ago today. I remember because we were attending a vintage drag racing event, (different event than the one Pat was at), when we heard the news. I miss his articles, his writings, his opinions, and his perspective on any number of topics. RIP "Too Tall"
I only met Pat twice. 1st time was when he shot my Merc for lost Hot Rods and the 2nd time at book signing at Aero Books in Burbank. I was honored to have him shoot my Merc and always enjoyed reading his articles. RIP Pat!
The toughest day of my life, we had a lot of plans. He was good to me, and he appreciated what I did for him. He was also one of a couple magazine Editors that could run a lathe !
3 years already? Jeez, time's going too fast. Lord, please bless Pat. He was a good friend to all hot rodders. Even to those of us who didn't know him personally.
Sad News met him at LARS , was standing near his roadster ready to take a photo as he approached I asked "are you Pat" he replied "do I owe you money" he signed a photo of my coupe for me which I treasure Nice guy, sadly missed
Alas @pgan, we knew him well. A man of man of great wisdom, wit, and words. His words, many, his photographs, well, you know. And then there’s the cars. The shoebox is well known, what you might not know is he was the caretaker of the Bill Burnham roadster.
I was at Toutle this past Saturday shooting a lot of pictures of the cars and the people. I thought about Too Tall a lot during the day!
