History remembering SOHIO gas and stations

    Several years ago Clark Miller and Sabra Sonewald authored a good book about SOHIO collectibles. It was published by Shiffer.

    Other good places to find pictures of SOHIO memorabilia would be the Matthews Auction website and the Aumman Auctions website. Search auction results. On the Aumann site search 2009 and before results, and specifically search the Rex Benson auction results. Rex had an incredible collection of SOHIO gas pump globes.

    I guess I came around too late for all that. Lived my whole life so far in Ohio. Pops said one of his first jobs was at a gas station. I'll have to see if he remembers which one. I know gas station attendants aren't long gone in Ohio. Swifty's still has them. But I don't know if they're full service.
