The HAMB is the reason I bought a computer. I was at Assdraggers one day and he showed me the HAMB. We went out the next day and bought a computer. I vowed I nerver needed one until then.
yep those links remind me of college... hot rod deluxe magazine WOW- rockabilly dating message board and germ haha... changing shear pin on a starter in my 50 ford on the street... flamethrowers... and getting pulled over EVERY thursday night.
Wayne, name your price for one of them stickers if you have one extra you wanna part with. . . and Happy Easter! Traves
I think I was here when there was less than 50 members...I work nights so I missed all the good stuff. Seems a bunch of the regulars would get drunk and when they got home start all kinds of good threads. I would get home from work and read about all the fun and harrassment that went on at 2 or 3 in the morning! Guess that shit wouldn't fly anymore!
I too had the JJ bookmarked from about 1998 or so about the time Shag sent in my little piece on "Building a Carson Style Top" but I never really got to interested in the H.A.M.B. until last Christmas. Like I said "I'm Proud To Be A H.A.M.B.-er" Thanks Ryan Butch
Yep, lots of good memories from my time. I think I joined originally about 200-2001 timeframe, hard to remember. Sure was a smaller group back then.
I joined back in late 98 early 99. It seemed liked the board was more of a chat room type setup then. I joined when hemikat showed it to me after a carshow. I think it was the ft.smith show in fact. That was the first show I drove my rusty ass 60 chevy to. I didn't want to drive it so rough then, but my buddies said it would be cool that people wouldn't care if there were oil bottles falling out of the quarter panels. I remember driving scratch around the motel parking lot in it scraping. We lowered the car a couple of weeks before the show and it scraped where ever we went I used to take the road reflectors off the highway just by driving over them. I met Mcphail, Robert rolling, Big Mark, lucky 13 in general, Ryan, Mitch, I think Voodoo jim was there to. Man there were some good times like the arm chair races in the parking lot with big marks chevy scratch & jesse holding on to the back bumper while making laps around the parking lot. Hubnut (Grant) was driving a black 58 ford with maroon flames on it with me riding shot gun making laps behind mark while we were shooting off the flame throwers. I remember jesse falling out of one of the chairs and getting balled up on the asphalt. I also remember big mark throwing him in the swimming pool after he mouthed off that was funny. I think I have a picture somewhere of jesse sitting on a busted Ice chest after he was thrown in the pool by mark and when he came out it looked like he was bleeding like hell from the hair products he had in his hair. Damn I miss those days. I just realized there's an old pic of straykats merc with the primered front end and rearend after he took the firebird looking body work off it. I also remember germ messing with people all the time on the old board. He also had someone else he would get into arguments with, then knock everyones questions so far down you couldn't find them. Lots of beers drank back in the day also. I wish shows were still like ft. smith or at least had the same atmosphere. The straykat500 is probably the closest thing to the way ft. smith and the denison tx shows used to be. Now I'm getting depressed thinking about it. those were the days.
I still wear my black hamb shirt that had the roadster and 54 chevy on it. I only just recently got a new hamb shirt. Now I wish I had bought one of those old hamb stickers when they were new. I'd damn sure have one on my car now.
i remember those sites, matter of a fact i have 2 links back in the old link trading days listed on there
this thread make me look back at a few things i havent thought about in years, here's jason who did kustoms by tsr zine car, he sent me

Give me a break, I get on here for the first time in 3 days and get it from you?! No phone line at home yet, moved in though
guilty as charged. I didn't find the place till about 99-2000 I think. No more talk of mercins, jaffas, muffler bearings or blinker fluid these days.
HAAA that's it. Can't bring myself to stick it on anything so I just keep it. How many you got and would you sell me one more so I have a set.

hell yea! I got that saved on my OTHER computer! That was a little while ago! 2 motherboards, 3 printers, 3 monitors and a keyboard on this one alone! keep up the great work.
Missed you too. I was shocked to see your pics and realized your were there. I could have used a hug, too.
Holy crap!!! Man that's crazy! I remember when you had to LOOK for the Viva La Hamb! link at the bottom of the page... 'it all started in darkness...." You had to poke around the site a bit to even find the message board, as it wasn't on the home page and kind of hid.... I remember having 2,000 members and thinking it was a lot.... now....
still? but you're right though... i only come 'round for the "remember when" posts... tech confuses me.
