We get some kind of spiders around here that, in the late summer, build these huge webs each evening. The webs can easily be four or six feet high. They get built between vertical items, like between a hedge and a tree or something like that. The spiders themselves are big and either black or dark brown.

Well, last year there was one that got me good three days in a row. One day it built its web between the house and my truck, which was parked outside. I walk right thru the web and have the spider on my face, running around. I swiped it off but had web all over me.

The next day it built the web in the outside door frame. Open the door, step outside right through its damn web. Again, the spider is running all over me and I get webbed.

Next day, same door, same web. Wasn't paying attention. LOL.

Overall, I don't like to disturb spiders as they do eat a lot of more annoying insects and they basically just want to do their own thing. Some people consider them good luck. But I do know that a brown recluse or black widow bite can be very serious.

we have some down here like that, they are orb weavers. we also got the huntsman spiders, they got imported into florida and moved into south georgia. they are supposed to get up to ten inches from leg to leg. i had one eight inches in my garage. they are pretty harmless to people, but deadly to bugs. also have big hairy wolf spiders and fishing spiders which are big. leave em alone and let em eat the bugs. they will run away from you.

This past winter I walked through my shop and counted 12 black widow spiders in about 5 minutes:eek: I sprayed them with some **** I had and I think they just laughed at me. I had the professionals come out and spray the whole shop. I haven't seen any since. I would rather have a rattle snake infestation, at least they warn you before the kill you!

Bought my 56 f100, from a guy who got it from TN, every place i look there is a little nest made out of mud, Can't start a new area without a s****er. Here in NY we have mobs, street gangs and terrorists, I am thinking spiders aren't so Bad.

PS my f100 came from someone named Jones, had a utility body on it, anyone know him? Would love to get some info.

i have to say i would take bears over any of the other creatures listed here, but in northern mn my biggest worry is chipmunks and mice that get in and chew everything up

So I do believe I have the end all to this post..Windy,but that's how I do..
    And here we go..

Two days ago,my scrounging companion (We're related, and he's QUITE unattractive,so don't even go there,Grrr-Friend!) and myself went to a local abandoned dump for the ump-teenth time, after swearing every time we would NEVER go back since it's such a swampy ****-hole..Attached picture shows an idea of what it looks like..Save the image in your mind..It comes in handy later.

    I digress..

So we are taking inventory and pictures and such, and I decide to make a lap "down below" (Again, get your mind out of the gutter..)

So I get down at the near bottom of said pile, and trip over a pickup cowl..No big deal..EXCEPT!

I'm swarmed with yellowjackets.Every****inwhere.I'm getting stung on my face, back, hands, etc.
In my panic,I decide to remove my coveralls..Why?

So I'm now in my boxers,a grown *** man, screaming like a girl, swatting, punching myself,falling..Seems with my metatarsal boots on,the coveralls don't want to come off,and I can't seem to get my arms back in their respective holes,so there I sit, pants around my ankles getting stung,stung,stung..I basically ended up running the best I could up the hill to where my uncle was,and had him swat them off..So I rested a bit,and got our parts, which were clear on the other side anyway..I get home, and my girl counts 43 welts, nearly all on my sweet, sweet ***..All this for a door with 14 bullet holes and 6 inches missing out the bottom.

Moral of the story is this..Choose your battles well,my friends.

  7. to bad your uncle wasnt snapping pics of you trying to run with those britches down.haha
