I bought a remote dual oil filter housing for my project. Now this wasn't a cheap Chinese one, it came with 'MADE IN USA' cast into it, and was from a respected manufacturer. I was very happy until I looked at it, and f**k me, if I'd have ordered an oil restrictor it would have been well up for the job: The threaded spuds for the filters had holes barely 3/8" in diameter and were screwed so far into the housing that the flow was cut by half by the flat casting that protruded into the port. If I'd have fitted it as-was it probably would have starved the engine of oil. It took me over an hour to strip it, rebore and shorten the spuds, and 'flow' the internal p***ages. The moral of this tale is, if you buy oil system components please check them before fitting them. Happy Christmas!
