Remove a pilot bushing the easy way

Just tapping with the hammer it pops it and drives out. Sure wear safety gl***es but this is by no way HIGH pressure.

Have you actually done this?

 

If you want the no-spatter solution and are not reusing the bearing/bushing, use candle wax. It works the same, but doesn't explode goop all over the place when you whack it. Once the bearing is out, you just lift out the candle wax plug and you're done.
