   The column and box is out of the car but how do i remove the steering box from the colum?

   The outer tube or mast jacket comes off the casting after removing the steering wheel and the clamp band at the bottom of tube, just pull up. The 3/4" shaft that's left is part of the worm gear inside the cast housing.
