Well I leant a lesson the other day, the hard way which is par for the course, spraying 2K clear in my garage. I didnt set up any sort of booth and the overspray has settled and hardened on my bikes and some a little on my coupe. ******! Am used to using 1K which isnt so much an issue.

I tried acetone without luck so looking for good suggestions for removing the 2K overspray from both chrome and painted surfaces. Current plan is a clay bar and clay bar lube but would love to hear any other solutions.

On the metal parts. You may have some success using a towel/rag soaked in sovent. You'll need to keep the surface wet for awhile. Just wiping the parts with solvent, probably will not make much progress.

Thanks will try that. Clay Bar and lube didnt realy touch it. Used some 0000 steel wool to better effect but still a not 100% right.

Yuck! That is a real mess! On paint, I have had to wet sand and polish in the worst cases. Sometimes I have had luck with reducers especially on chrome and polished parts. I do not use steel wool on nice chrome parts, 4 aught is fine on old chrome and rusty stuff, even windows as long as you keep it wet. But it will dull good plating and add cobwebs.

You are in Japan, I do not know if you can get commercial reducers there, but a shop may pour some off for you in a jar of you ask nice. We use hardened clear because it is resistant to being scarred or removed, makes this part less fun.

Keep us informed on your progress. Wear gloves and a mask. Use the course side of a microfiber towel to apply, soft side to remove, wax when done.

Unfamiliar with 2K, product. Don't know what will work on the painted stuff, but chrome and bare metal responds well to MEK, (Methyl Ethyl Ketone)
Highly carcinogenic ! Just be sure to use PPE, goggles, gloves, lots of ventilation.

I use lacquer thinner on chrome and other unpainted stuff. I find it’s less harmful to my health than reducer or MEK as mentioned. Your painted items will require wet sanding with at least 4000 grit and a block to keep it flat, then buff to polish.

I get in a hurry too when I’m painting. All it needs is a drop cloth or sheet of plastic to cover your stuff even if you use curtains to contain your overspray. Let us know what worked.

While lacquer thinner is a solvent blend, and MEK is a single solvent. Neither one is actually listed as a carcinogenic that I've seen. The NFPA heath rating for MEK is a ( 1 ) slightly hazardous, on a scale of 0-4.
