1952-59 Ford removing front clip? 54...

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by alteredpilot, Jun 30, 2011.

  1. Hey guys...

time to put another engine in the 54 so i figgered now would be a good time to paint the engine compartment and ch***is.

can anyone give me some tips on removing the front clip? it seems probably the most convenient method...

    thanks.

It's pretty straight forward. You will need to soak most of the bolts with p/b blaster, this will make your life much easier. I left the inner fenders on and removed the fenders seperatly but you can set the whole thing off as a unit if you have the help.

if you aren't taking the hinges out, then you're biggest problem should be the two (I think it could just be one) fender bolts that you have to take out from inside the car. Its been three years since I've taken my dog house off, but I have taken '54 ford fenders off about a dozen times ahahah.

PB blaster will be your friend!
