Most people just plan to replace all the rubber anyways, so you just take a razor and slice the rubber apart to get the gl*** out.

Then with new rubber, you use the rope trick to pull it all back in.

Damn, I knew that was coming...

The trim is also held in/together by the rubber channel. It usually has tabs or something that fits into a groove in the rubber.

The rope trick: ***emble everything - new rubber/gl***/trim - all back together as one piece and then run a rope through the groove (that will eventually be accupied by the lip in the car's window opening). Run the rope in that groove all the way around the rubber leaving a length of the rope for you to pull. Then have someone hold all that ***embly up to the window opening with you inside the car holding the length of the rope coming out of the rubber. As they lightly press the ***embly against the car, you pull the rope to help the rubber lip over the lip of the window opening & voila' - it ****s the whole thing onto the car.

Hope that makes some sense. If not, it will probably make more once you have it apart.

    Yeah, no problem.

Just to be clear...instead of bending up your trim by trying to remove it from the car & then still having to cut apart the old rubber to get the gl*** out...just slice the rubber to get the trim & gl*** out together.

The old rubber is junk anyway and you can get new rubber from Steel Rubber Products or RB's Obsolete, Restoration Specialties or the Filling Station, etc.

  9. cut the gasket from the inside. it's softer and the stainless trim will come out with the Gl*** unless it's a bel aire
