I know there are a few pinstripers who hang out on the HAMB.

I've got a car, newly purchased late model Impala, I want to remove a painted on dual pinstripe from.
I've tried acetone, reducer, lacquer thinner, etc and without LOTS of elbow grease it doesn't move. There's probably 30 feet of stripe on the car and it will take hours just rubbing with the above.

Any ideas and help is appreciated.

after you use easy off oven cleaner you will need to sand the marks off from where the stripes raised the stock paint.

Depends on what type of paint was used, and if it was catalized.

Easy-Off is an old trick for removing 1-Shot,
works better if you can keep the area wet.Of course,
the new easy-off isn't as strong as the old stuff.

If it's catalized Urethane, then you might need a buffer with compound.

If you can find out who did the stripes, you might be able to figure out what they used.

    Thanks guys.
I don't think it's catalyzed. I did a small spot with reducer and some scotctbrite and it took it off but scuffed the clear coat.
I'll try the easy off and get some compound for the buffer, I'll need it no matter what.

You can soak some paper towels in Easy-Off,
apply over the stripes, then cover in plastic.

Holds the chemicals in,so it works faster.
    Otherwise they evaporate too quickly.

Remember to get the easy off in the yellow can, not the low fume stuff in the blue can.
