removing wax?

    Plain old dishwashing soap will remove it. Might take several washings but it will strip the wax.

    its alright bigchief...yea this car has been in my family it's whole life, since day one. my great grandfather bought it new in jan 1965 and when my great grandma p***ed it went to me since i've always been the car guy in the family. always had those plastic factory seat covers on it til a few years ago. by retarded relatives i meant my cousins...when they'd visit my great grandma would let them drive it but made them wash and wax it first so they just always did the quicky "slather rediculous amounts of wax everywhere really fast method" same ones that took the seat covers off and put the few dings in the body that it has. luckily it lived in the garage so the interior is basically immaculate and new looking. not ungrateful for it at all, just wish the cousins had been a little more careful but to them it was just some old car.

    thanks for all the replies everyone. very helpful, im gonna dive into it this weekend. cleaning up the engine bay etc this week.
