Repairing ripped seat

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Feb 9, 2004.

  1. My girls '68 squareback now has two large rips in the seat thanks to her keys....the seats seem to be a really heavy vinyl material. i don't want to do the glue and paint repair..somethin a little more permanent. any suggestions??

Hey Rat...probably best to swing by a local trim shop and let 'em have a look at it. The glue or patch method isn't permanent, so a new piece of vinyl s***ched in will be best... IMHO...S***ch

  3. Yeah your probably right..i thought i have seen an attachment for a soldering gun that "welds" the pieces back together

It wasn't made by RONCO on a late night infomercial was it [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] I've heard of stuff like that, but have never seen it in actual use. Might be worth a try if it was cheap.
