I know this has been brought up before but why can't we have HAMB plaques made up, charge double the price for them & but the extra money into running the board??
I myself don't belong to a club but it would be cool t hang one off the back of my car.
someone can come up with a design( not just "HAMB") And dennis can make them up.it'll help also!( He can use the money, he drives a 72 yr old truck!!lol).

Basically because Ryan hasn't approved the idea yet. And seeing as the HAMB is his deal then no one can until he says yes.

I brought this up a couple years ago and it started a shit storm. "Oh My God! Someone might sell one to a goldchainer on E-Bay!" Who really gives a rats ass if one winds up on a PT Cruiser after the HAMB gets their cut? So we got T-Shirts. When it was brought up again, Everyone argued over stickers/waterslides/etc. and we got a second round of t-shirts. The third round of T-shirts should be comming soon. [IMG]

I still think the plaques would be fun moneymakers for the HAMB and no one is forced to put it on their car. Then again, I could always use some more T-Shirts... [IMG]

I would really like to see a HAMB-licensed T-shirt. As many artists as we count as members someone should be able to work up a kick-ass shirt design. Be an easy way to meet and recognize other HAMBers at events. Got to be a good markup on t-shirts. Every club and organization in the world does them. Could do a design contest, start a huge 300 page wrangle on what to print for a logo, etc. Back to the topic. Yes, I would like a dash plaque or window decal. Either one and I'm willing to pay an exhorbitant price for it! So start bugging Ryan!

Yup, every time it switches topic to shirts, key fobs, coffee cup holders, anything but plaques. I wonder if SCTA had this problem 50 years ago?...

Yorg, Ya cheap bastage, next time buy 2 shirts! [IMG]
I'll forgive you Pancho, you're new here! We're talking real plaques, not dash plaques. [IMG]

Hang it on the back of your car, or in your shitter next to the toilet paper if your club won't allow it on the car. As long as the HAMB gets the support, who cares where you put it? [IMG]

HAMB waterslides!?! That would be so cool. We'll have one in every Six Flags.

Hey, I was out for a couple years there, so when was round two for the T-shirts? Still wear my round one with pride, tho. and put me on the list for round three.

uhh I started round two (me & my big mouth!) around March or April... I wanted to get them out before show season. It quickly became what I like to call an "Oversmoked Project!" [IMG] Kinda like herding cats.

  12. Plaques! That what I'm talkin 'bout! I'd absolutely love to see a nice distasteful HAMB plaque.
Speedfreak did a nice HAMB sticker design some years back and I still have mine on a hunk of magnetic tape. It's an image of a carson topped, slammed and skirted shubox ford with a cartoon greaser standing behind it smiling with mucho teeth. It's really funny with 2 club plaques hanging off the rear bumper [55 Pontiac bumper] of this shubox and dragging on the ground and the geeky guy has a pocket protector with about 45 pens in it....not sure how it would reproduce in aluminum but I'm sure Dennis of O'Brian Truckers [Buick 59 or something close---sorry Dennis} could tell us. I can scan this thing and post it for your approval and viewing pleasure but alas, Ryan will be the guy to go to first.

From what I gather, Ryans gone till after the 4th.

If you want a HAMB t-shirt from 2004 you need to show up at the HAMB Drags. [IMG]

  16. Ryan is sucking down Margaritas on the Beach in Mexico............at this point he cares not of us [IMG]!

I would like a plaque, it is up to him though. I vote for a small safety star type HAMB plaque, full size drag plates are just to out there for our plan for world domination [IMG]

The plaques would be cool because: they are very 50 ish,Dennis at O'brians trucking can make them so it would help his business, it would make money for the board & also whoever got one will benefit from the plaque & the fact that the board can still run!!
    Its a win-win situation.

Wanna bet this goes to 8 or more pages like the last 3 times it came up?

  21. Ah shit! I can't access anything copied with my scanner onna counta it's hooked up to Mrs Rocky's computer and hers and mine don't speak to each other. I hadda charge up the batteries in my digital camera and click an image..here 'tis.
Dennis, if you're listening, what are the chances of making a good lookin aluminum plaque off this artwork?
HAMBers...whaddya think of this art for a HAMB plaque?
Anybody else have a design they wanna submit here?

.........very cool, but it's ALL Ryan's call!

  23. You're right, Skate Fink, it's all Ryan's call. It would be really positive if we had a design already in place to put before Ryan when we ask him about it.
I'd love to see more designs but this really Jim V's post. Whaddya think Jim? Wanna see designs? Art submissions? or were you simply asking a rhetorical question?
Personally, I'd love to see a real-live, approved HAMB plaque hangin off the rear of my car.

id buy 2...wonder if a smaller BIKE plaque would fly for my harley along with the larger 1 for my 55 fairlane.?..

  26. Instead of a license plate sized plaque, let's do a small add-on plaque using the HAMB logo as seen at the top of the page.
Sorta along the lines of those "Hollywood" and "Miami Beach" license plate accessory castings seen in the Speedway catalog.

Far as I know all USA license plates are 6 x 12" with mounting holes 7" apart.
Making a small plaque about 6" wide and whatever the height comes out at for good proportions would do it and be a good match size-wise for the license plate.

If it went to 7" or a touch wider, mounting tabs could be cast on top and bottom.
The ones not used would be cut off by the owner and the mounting holes drilled in the tabs.
Upper and lower tabs would give a choice on whether to mount it under the plate or above.
    Or - anywhere else desired.

After thinking about it for a bit, a 4" wide plaque with single tab would really do it.
Sorta understated like a HAMB'r is....

Depending on the casting thickness, tabs may not be required and mounting could be accomplished by drilling and tapping a blind hole and making your own mounting tabs.

In any event, keep it simple, the HAMB logo is sufficient.

    Keep it small as well.
I'd run a small logo, but wouldn't run a full-size car club plaque.

We're not a car club anyway.

Not sure exactly what we are.

Just call us a small and friendly group with just a few participants.

Several thousand is still small, right? [IMG]

I'm with c9 on this one. A small liscense plate topper would be perfect. Any artists out there want to work on some art for a topper. Ryan will be back in about a week. It would be nice to have some art work to show him.
