Any ideas on some sort of replacement split bench seat for my 3 window? I would like to keep my stock seat slide and bolt the new seat into that. Stock springs are not acceptable my wife won't ride in the car with the stock bench as she feels it is way too uncomfortable.

  2. You probably could "rebuild" that original seat leaving out the springs and using high-density foam to build it up, then recover it. Might even be less expensive than one of the aftermarket seats (eg Wise Guys, Glide, etc.). I can relate to your wife's thoughts as sometimes those original springs can be a little too bouncy to be comfortable.

  3. i have a seat from a `38 ford coupe in my `36 3 window and everyone who has ridden in it has commented how comfortable it was

I also think it's just the foam and upholstery on that original seat. If you have a good upholsterer redo it they can fit a nice foam base on those springs to make it comfortable.
